Health
I'm a person that is very focused on my own personal health. I strive towards self improvement and excellence in both my mental and physical abilities. This is a page dedicated to this effort and hopefully I can give some tips and pointers for others who wants to and are ready for life-long changes towards a better body and mind.
Supplements
Supplements are important, but they do not replace a healthy regular diet. I live in Norway which has a lack of sunlight during the winter times so it's important to take the correct supplements during cold and dark winter days. See my list of daily supplements at the bottom.
Detoxify
It is important to detoxify your body a couple of times every year. This is a process where you use herbs and supplements to support and increase the rate at which the body exports toxic waste in your body.
For detox I use a herb based pill solution called BioFirm/BioDrain. This is a long (2-5 weeks) lasting cure.
Tea
Green tea is an important element of a healthy life. Green tea in particular, which has less coffein than coffe. [More
information coming later]
Exercise
Any healthy diet involves a good deal of exercise. I primarly train anaerobic exercises which comprises of brief, strength-based activities. This form of exercise as oppose to aerobic exercise makes your body burn fat and build muscles even when your done with your training. Your body will burn fat during relaxation and sleep.
One benefit from anaerobic exercise is that it raises your metabolic rate for nearly 18 hours after the activity is finished. This means you burn calories at an accelerated rate well after the exercise is completed. This can help you lose weight. In contrast, aerobic exercise only raises your metabolic rate for 2 hours.
From University of Michigan Health System, Starting n Exercise Program.
I normally work out 5 times a week for aprox. 40 to 50 minutes, starting with an 5 to 10 minutes warmup and rotating on the equipment for warmup. If I have extra energy at the end I sometimes do some aerobic training (running).
Nutrition
When you are exercising it's important to supply your body with enough carbs and proteins and I theretake take the following during and after my training sessions.
During Exercise:
Water (lots of it!)
Protonic Tropical Orange Sportsdrink (156 kcal, 40g + water)
After Exercise:
Carbo Fuel (318 kcal, 80g)
100% Whey Protein Chocolate (234 kcal, 60g)
4-5 dl Milk
Once in a while I also drink a meal replacement shake, Meal RP Strawberry (242 kcal, 60g) is a good one. These shakes also contains a lot of minerals and vitamins which just adds to the list of daily supplements I take below.
At the moment I don't take creatine, cause my detoxify cure expells water while creatine binds water.
Books
One of my best resources on living a healthy life is Fantastic Voyage: Live Long Enough to Live Forever by Ray Kurzweil and Terry Grossman. If you're like me and your planning on living a long and prosperous life, you should order yourself a copy of this book.
One of the primary lessons learned from this book is that it can be beneficial to go beyond the standard advertised dosage.
